Dr. Robert Weitz is a board certified pediatrician and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the New Jersey Academy of Pediatrics. He earned a doctorate in medicine with honors in pediatrics in 1986 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his pediatrics residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Weitz graduated with honors from American University in Washington, DC and then taught middle school science, initiating a school science program for gifted and talented students and founding a school chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. Dr. Weitz was raised in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. He and his wife, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, have one daughter, Jennifer who is also a pediatrician with Advocare Medford and Mansfield Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.  Their household also includes their rescue dog, who enjoys outdoor activities with them. Dr. Weitz's diverse interests include reading, hiking, biking, skiing, scuba diving and all activities with his grandson.
